Stroud District Ring & Ride was founded in April 2016, revived by Graham Stanley who successfully operates the Gloucestershire Minibus Scheme. After VCA Stroud and Cotswold Volunteer went into receivership, Graham set about “rallying the troops” to see what could be done to save the scheme. Overnight the money and service had disappeared…. but the people who needed Ring & Ride hadn’t.
They relied on the Ring & Ride minibuses and the Volunteer Car Service and valued and trusted the drivers’ care, compassion and good humour. It was clear that the drivers and the office staff who had been made redundant were keen to continue the service. So a rescue was put into action and the service was back on the road.
Stroud District Ring & Ride is based in Stroud Town Centre, opposite the Subscription Rooms, at No.17 George Street, right next to Sawyers Estate Agents.
Many of our clients are on a low income – so we will continue to keep our prices as low as we can, relying on grants and donations to help cover the cost of fuel, maintenance, insurance and staff salaries.
Our drivers and staff are here to support you and the local community – but we really need your support to keep the wheels turning – and continue to make a positive difference to so many people’s lives.
